Latin Name: Camellia Sinensis
Origin Country: Sri Lanka
Black tea is the most widely consumed type of tea in the world. It is made from the leaves of a shrub called Camellia sinensis. The leaves of black tea are allowed to oxidize in a humid and warm atmosphere, thus acquiring the bronze or black color from which they get their name.
Ceylon OP1 Tea, another OP variety of Sri Lankan Tea, is a fine grade of large leaf tea. Plucked at just the right time of year, the leaves of this tea, from a well-known estate in the northeastern Dimbula region, are long, slightly wiry and slightly twisted.
This tea has a rich aromatic forest-like scent. The liquor generally has a light golden reddish color and a delicate lighter taste. The infusion is deeply aromatic.
