Cayenne pepper is a hot chili pepper, frequently used in the preparation of spicy dishes that has been associated with a wide range of health benefits.

Cayenne chili peppers are closely related to jalapeño chili peppers – belonging to the same genus “Capsicum” and coming from a similar cultivar of Capsicum annuum.

Some of the potential health benefits of cayenne are:

Pour a cup of boiling water into ½-1 teaspoon of cayenne and let it soak for 10 minutes. You can take a tablespoon of this infusion and mix it with a tablespoon of water and drink it when you need it. Place a pinch of cayenne into your hot chocolate for a spicy flavour. Include the ingredient in your meat marinades, especially for poultry and fish dishes. Spice up hummus, guacamole and other dips with cayenne. Keep a shaker of cayenne pepper at your dinner table. Sprinkle cayenne on seafood such as oysters, lobsters, shrimp and fish.
Oral cayenne pepper side effects can cause discomfort in the upper abdomen. Some people experience fullness, bloating, flatulence, burping, nausea and/or diarrhea. Others have reported sweating, flushing, tearing, headache and runny nose after using these supplements.
